I’ll turn again okay uh I didn’t even think about this I was too busy setting him okay how about [Music] disappointed counting again okay two three four now really no one exactly to us below [Music] what you don’t know other days you know what it’s party time I think I think I think let’s not do warm-up today what do you think it’s been a long week we’ve learned so much let’s have a cool cool cool down yeah
I cooled down what would you do to cool down definitely not that let’s do my mom hello mom oh hello mom my mom always writes to us in the in the in the intervals of the digital concert hall live concerts and says tell Stefan he should sit with his legs a little bit more together there’s no no no that was not for me
I wasn’t ladylike so then you did the whole second half with your knees together no yeah we all sat in the applause with at least not lasse now I couldn’t do a same out knees together like all of it seriously no let’s talk about like um actually what was the most embarrassing moment because it’s party time so we can talk about that oh you know what you’re right what’s the most embarrassing moment for you’ve ever had
Stefan so many oh so many some many of them no one of them was actually I was planning to come back to up to when I was still the front of our nose coming back and I’m saying oh it’s fine he provided the main stage like like 10:00 to 7:00 and then I walked to the Opera that’s a good 10 minute walk and
I walk there and usually the performance starts started at 7:30 but for Marriage of Figaro they started at 7 so I found out that they had already started the over tear and Thomas bounce line took over the overture in my jacket and I had to go in and like take him out after the overture but the only jacket
I thought was like a small sized one and actually as you might see I’m not that small size so I went in for the figure with a small side jacket they had to play after the overture to the break-in what this site that was very embarrassing and also of course very impressed that I did come today because
I didn’t check the time off this remember very well because you thought it was amazingly funny but I did not I was ashamed for days we were playing petrushka in baden-baden in the festival with Simon Rattle and there’s this bit where there’s a big bass drum Jew and although the whole art shows beyond beyond beyond beyond beyond beyond you remember
Stefan yes I actually you never fail and that’s why it was so funny we we couldn’t stop laughing to the concert with all my might the loudest I’ve ever played I played so loud I was actually quite proud but it went beyond Simon looking with oh okay then and then carried out actually you never you never miss
Callum that’s a bit embarrassing from that’s supposed to count usually are they at the office Oh everybody watching on Facebook fantastic to see you write in and tell us weaker I’m seeing the messages on the chat I’m seeing a few messages they’re just going going past so fast we’ll check them all out later if you’ve got any know a bouncing ball with you you have to check that embarrassing moments we want to hear your embarrassing moments on the chat it’s a party what are you drinking what are you wearing what are your hoard why have you brought anything ridiculously horn what horny horny today like
Like my glasses and Stefan do you have anything never mind I’ll rephrase that my mother’s watching so I’m going to behave haha please we’ve got a very nice flower in your house thank you and you have new flowers in the back I have their flowers from outside on my Terrace I dug them up today and put them in there because you can’t buy any flowers here in
Berlin at the moment not have to say today it was like 15 16 degrees outside but it’s getting -4 again on Monday so I can’t even plant my my balcony because they you know whatever you plant now is go to die on Monday so you Gracie I can’t see oh I’m in the computer going in Melbourne it’s an early party to be honest and the last night’s party is only recently finished so anything’s possible right now people are people watching from all over the place that’s fantastic
England Idaho I want someone wants a glass hmm I love these little flags Devin thank you very much for the flags we can see where everybody’s watching from we want your embarrassing moments guys we want all your embarrassing moments and we also would like to know what you want on the horn hangouts next week we have to talk about start times we’ll do that with
Stefan we’ll keep you posted over the end about the start times for next week and what we’re planning but right and let us know we have some special guests planned for next week who said they’d come in and talk about you know their their view on things yeah what are you gonna do with your free day Stefan oh
I haven’t planned nothing no I have projects I do actually have projects the first project actually started a couple of days ago I ordered a new barbecue grill thing and tonight we successfully trying up is it was like very warm today so I did sausages a fish and a rack of lamb are not for you so obviously a vegetarian no no but actually eternal that
I do need a bit of discipline and I think I have some time now actually play on Monday at 6:00 p.m. I’m doing a livestream for RT which is a culture a TV channel here and they said oh they will you play a piece with piano and I’m like we have to play three meters apart and it’s it’s a virtual camera so there’s nobody else in the room but
I can’t play really much so I’m gonna play the easiest piece I can find oh by the way sauna fryer they can’t find the group chat do we have a group chat for them too many people it’s party hi Stefan hi Julie welcomed nearly you should meet ok Stefan we’re gonna baby come on why are you into your dog how are you oh look then show us what you’ve got it’s such a party oh my how is everybody doing today about the same as yesterday [Music]
Oh girls here we need more cake we need Gayle and Gayle just arrived and I get welcome I’m in my attic Larry practices in the basement and I’m in the attic so there’s two floors between us how the best marriages survive right that’s why I live in a three-story house Eric where are you I’m the New Jersey you guys you guys have had a rough time huh well yeah all
New York has a ref time yes absolutely yeah that’s well that’s where I mean my heart goes out to the people who live in the city you know where it’s epidemic proportions and and just for the freelance community you know in all in all all fields you know just where people suddenly lost their income so yeah it’s tough but it’s a party so much so happy to see you guys and you’re wearing your t-shirts it’s probably the first time we were looking like crazy for my shirt and my my son loves to use it and then we were running around the house only to find
Out that he was he had it on himself and is really what are you guys doing where are you tell us what you’re up to drinking wine where’s your wine Radovan we’ll leave stuff on to drink his wine welcome alcohol party okay it’s great my studio the basement the mornings or sometimes the afternoons they’re teaching mostly online so
I’m trying to stay in touch with my students they were doing a fantastic job in good spirits and motivated going I’m sorry I stay in shape together with them so I’m looking into repertory that we never looped through because I have my home library here so but basically it’s it’s it’s more regular and better than in some ways oh can we all have a look of the home library yes it looks like it looks like no no she’s a performance coach and what what how would you describe yourself a mental coach as a performance coach you you saved my life on many occasions of when
I’ve been panicking worried I’d have you go yeah thanks to you how are you how are you doing it you look at someone someone’s left we’ve changed no physical coach thinker you like helped me so much coming back from my injury I can’t even tell you I think of what you told me like every single day whenever
I get locked up and tight I just think of what you told me so anybody ever needs help Dinka is the one to go to probably a scam call Oh baby a husband just called from baseman Jen where were you and how’d your hamster cold Jen oh my hamster hamsters and I’m in Philly I’m I’m in the basement in my house and
Jen you’re very you’re actually probably the fittest of us all right now because you’ve got an online recital tomorrow Wow yeah my section we agreed to do something for the Philly virtual Chamber Music Festival festival with a pH but but then of course we got a lockdown shelter in place order on Monday and so now we’re sort of gonna
I’m gonna do most of it and then I think Ernie’s gonna bike on by and maybe we’ll play some duo’s at the end six feet apart maybe I’m gonna try to make it be collective and communal and fun if any of Gen students are watching could you put the link to it or whoever knows in the chat so that we can all click on it tomorrow because
I’d like to what Andrew babe where are you I’m in my office to do at home in LA looking outside what would be nice to go out in but everyone’s too scared to leave the house no Ellie Phil are not working at all anymore or what happened to that we we’re off until at least in 10th of
May wow this is how Andrew spends his days with weather with an imposter right at the top of a Gatecrasher so all at the same time warming up Wow okay yeah I’m like like 40 minutes online teaching is quite a long time how do you do it we tell a lot of stories but students who sort of scattered all over the place and they call in as well yep you guys want to do a warm-up any of you you know call it
Andrew I I’m gonna have a go the next time today I was too busy with planning your party but but it was great for the few minutes I was there the only problem is if we do a warm-up like now for us it’s 9 o’clock at the evening I’m really like I tried the new barbecue thing and
I had a glass of wine so if I do a warm-up that it’s like for tomorrow already Andrew you how the boys everybody fine my boys good they’re keeping us busy having a great time no they missed their friends no we’re gonna have that we need that at the end of a Friday we eat that we’re gonna we’re gonna boogie on down
Julie hello Julie Landsman how are you doing I’m doing well I’ve got a dog that needs to be walked twice a day so it’s a good excuse to get out the sun is shining I’m hanging in there doing the best I can not to worry about the future are you teaching online as well a lot and as as
Stefan said it’s tiring after 40 minutes you feel like you’re kind of losing it I’m doing I’m trying to do one less of the day because that’s enough you might have heard earlier we’re doing this massive got a Gatecrasher hi kids it’s a massive Gator so if Julie were running once a week Jen and Eric rawski and myself and
Jeff Lang and Randy Gardner and and Ernie kovar and Julie Pilon and Barbara Jocelyn who else each week we’re going to have a spare rib area and we’re meeting with all of our students from junior artists temple and barn so we had a massive meeting the other day on zoom’ with 51 people it’s communities very tough State yeah being
United keeping ourselves and our students sane all of you tonight it’s really and all the way new you with your t-shirt I’m so touched really now even stuff on Superman it’s a bit tight it’s just too tight hey don’t you guys find that being on in quarantine and self-isolation that only does eat it’s terrible I love it
I love him I’m cooking all day my fingers smell like garlic onion like red wine sauce everything is like perfect I I bought a new grill so there was a couple of sausages I did nice dorada sea sea bass wild catch pink one and a rack of lamb and tried out the new girl reg of lamb turn out to be a bit like too much on the raw side
I rescued it yeah that was on the stuff today that’s not amazing that is not the kind of stuff I know how to cook look you’re playing off your balcony Stefan that was the main thing the other day oh thank you they said we should play the ode to joy’ it at six o’clock local time so I thought well
I’ll just go do it and I was surprised I get really resonant back courtyard and people on their balconies they kind of liked it and yeah that was that was you have to be there and it’s sort of like a lot of energy at the moment a lot of energy there was something you know it’s I need to like show them to my colleagues and also the being in
Germany Germany seems to like they want to take care of the arts and the people I think it’s as good a place as any to be during this crisis so you know so that’s what they said either play on the ballet I never play in my balcony and usually the you know the neighbors they really value their peace and quiet here in
Germany but it seemed like to be the thing to move then to do at the moment and the balcony said we would like to have a concert every day I might have to go back today I didn’t go the next day they were complaining they like practicing in the apartment is getting bit hard I have a student he can’t practice at all except off with a practice mute no
I really have you know I can’t teach and because I’m slow like yeah I can chat to him that’s that’s something helpful sometimes but yeah if you can’t really blame your apartments going to be really hard and if he can only play with it stop like like a hotel mute yeah I’m sure but Iran do you have some but worse than that
I we had a student in our school in Madrid who fell ill with the virus and he is recovering now he spent about 10 days in hospital but I just spoke to him today in the afternoon and he’s strong and he’s very optimistic and also through here all my best wishes and he’s a strong experience so that’ll be great who said what who was for my student from
Portugal ah the low home player I’m yes an excellent home pledge but now he’s becoming an excellent high horn player as well an excellent guy anyway say yeah all the best am i keeping in shape well I I have these books that I keep on my music stand that sort of remind me that I should continue learning new things and you know we are on spring break here at
Northwestern because we’re on the quarter system so we have an extra week of spring break and then we have nine more weeks of school so I’m very curious all everybody is doing their lessons since it starts you know another week on the 4th or the 6th of April for me and then I’m not sure how I’m going to do nine different weeks for 18 or 20 have 23 students so it’s gonna be difficult
I feel really sad for the seniors and the grad students that they’re supposed to do their recitals and how are they gonna do their recitals but I have a book that you may not know the poet trumpet etudes which one was that oh the barbeque or the Barbuto yeah the klapheke one you got it okay great got it thank you those are great not the noodle er but it’s challenging you know we found
Klaus vollendroff recommended some I don’t know if any of you guys know these they’re 24 OBO attitudes by fairest you can get him on is mo you play them in e-flat and they’re brilliant oboe it’s like are you okay great thank you Andrew what are you practicing right now chef phone’s gonna walk about never mind no he’s starting questions he’s not used to having his room so tidy [Laughter] look at or just stuff that
I’d never come across and just discovering new things it’s like second movement of Nicole Edwards anyone play the second moments really a very cool thing the other day and I’m Andrew why didn’t you put it out there you played all ten horn parts in the in the force awakens horn ensemble from Star Wars or what piece was it there was an arrangement actually that one of pilots friends in
Venezuela had legal yeah perfect yeah think the cool things actually I mean the fit the first four parts were no problem it’s just when you started getting down to the seventh and eighth parts when they were really low that I realized send them all just the cover those low horn parts you know from an expert let’s all play them yeah
I wish I would do some playback yeah maybe we could all do it we could all do an arrangement in each we could we could all play our own parts and then put them all together what do you think we could [Music] I didn’t know something sweet heavens gonna play something please step on I’ve been playing with my play along
I will throw I knew that one there you going totally chill long as you play and so just you know just you know I’m using trying to plain singing style having fun make things to have fun I think Jen where did you go oh my I threw your hamster to run away chewed the wires to the Internet [Applause] actually
I showered and change this for today but no it’s you know I think your truth be told you know it’s it’s I think all this has gone through the same thing where you have your life and all of a sudden overnight it’s just gone and it is a huge adjustment um so I mean I have dug in hard to keep my students going and to teach my children at home and that
I’m a third grade teacher and I have played just a little bit in lessons and just as we’re experiencing even on this hangout you know audio is is a fickle thing on the internet and so yeah some of the projects that I actually have about to probably get into with my students is reducing you know that program at capella which
I’m sure most most people out there have had some experience or have seen it in action so I’ll I think we’re gonna lay down some horn ensemble things where I will play and there’s two more advanced students of minor we’re talking about the three of us may be covering the wilder octet because that’s that’s a good challenge in piece and so
I’ll really have to get in shape for that one because it’s a screamer but yeah I mean that’s I I have had time though to to just get back to some basics and that I think I’m sure we’re probably all in the same boat you know you always crave that time of year when you have a little break from your day job and you can sort of get back to basics and so that’s kind of what
I’m doing a little bit I’ve been doing doing fundamentals caruso Fargus is this a nice party Oh Stefan who stuff mostly like like kitchen skills at the moment because we know that we don’t play before 9th of April so I I have this thing lying around a bit and I do practice and I’m having a hard time
I’m sure I can try it you cost the students watch it but we know I last 8 months or 10 months that I stay you know a couple of days off is nice and no I restart again but like like in cooking it cutting things and like preparing making Dinka how can we stay motivated please help us you already are as
I can hear it now in the kitchen yeah very very motivated and well organized so perfect well maybe sort of really on their own playing their horn every day what what advice would you you know it must it is hard that’s what the horn hangouts are for to sort of connect everybody but I mean what would you well is there anything motivational that they could look on
YouTube I remember you told me some great videos the one about self-compassion and some other stuff there’s some real favorites but I think the most important thing is to know in this time what makes us so crazy is that we cannot predict what will happen and how long will it take and this uncertainty this is something that after after you know a longer time in the self isolation and living like this starts to be really difficult and so and the only thing is we cannot control what will happen but we can control what what we are doing and and how we are doing it and
I think it’s very very important to keep some routine so practice horn at the moment it is actually what you need for your mental health it’s just keeping the routine and and also planning the other things because you are all used to have you know full calendar and rehearsals concerts and everything and now you are the one who can organize that so
I think you’re all doing great things with with students and hangouts and and all these things that we’re playing being something that can feed our souls I’ve been doing a composer a day that I love and just whatever composer that I feel like playing that day I’ll just pick something I’m just playing along with it and if
I and then maybe if I can’t play because it’s too late then I’ll just listen to it really loud you know [Music] feeling emotionally connected to it so agree with you it’s nice to have it feel like our love what’s about having in the next Friday again yes like having whoever’s there you know it happens to be okay yay okay lighted
Julie blends beans corn hangout bus and party great that’s what a great idea Gail you’re gonna be there absolutely yeah British make a nice barn arrangement of happy birthday Eric that’s your job ok we’ll we’ll plan something and okay we’ll find a favorite opera and make something yes this is what that’s fun later Beethoven ate no like almost to the second exactly together the trains were that accurate would be really okay it was like maybe a second off not much
Julie we’ll see what we can organize for you for your birthday and if you’re lucky I’ll get you that stripper oh no no I mean that friend we were talking about earlier on I don’t know how to say you have to stay six feet away from him now though oh yeah but whether he can stay away from her the two of them when we did the principal horn hangout you two were just like noodling in the corn
I was like hey guys hello what can you say for the viewers just for a second I we’ve had some amazing selfies this week we’ve been doing horn hangout selfies and we’re going to do one with all of us in a minute but I have three winners who have all won a horn hangout t-shirt and I’d love to show you their self selfies if

Jan’s recital whatever is anybody putting in the internet that could be interesting maybe you can host it on your website so that everybody can just get in and look we could live stream YouTube time we can try to might be asleep at the time that’s the problem yeah whatever yeah whatever we’ll see what we can do thank you so much for joining everybody
Timmy you’re gonna play us out yep [Music] we’re not live anymore that’s enough of that thank you it was so much fun it was a little bit I did I mean I want to give everybody oh you couldn’t everyone’s got to do their own hangout at some point I would love it but this was just really a get-together and just to make everybody feel connected well done thank you very much hey great to see you all yeah nice to see you all
Cheers Stefan you’re a brilliant I loved your mouthpiece collection thank you guys thank you I’m very touched that meant a lot I’ll dig my now all of the proceeds all the proceeds of the t-shirts go to the horn hangout fund and help me hire people like hansom Tim to do this amazing work because otherwise I could I couldn’t do this on my own he’s responsible for it all so it’s worth it amy-jo
Ryan just sent a sent a text saying that was fun I was gonna say I remember the story how once you were written a message by on player in Syria yes Syria and how much it meant to him so I think it’s a very noble gesture and a wonderful idea to bring us together to keep people entertained because we know it’s not only well
I’ve had a great time at the party thank you all and we’ll see you see you next week [Music]
