Open A Grade Brass

Darebin City Brass, Preston topped every single discipline, hymn, major work, own choice and march, for the cleanest of clean sweeps. Footscray Yarraville City took second with Glenferrie third.

Box Hill City Band edged a tight three-band contest by a single point from Diamond Valley Brass.

The biggest brass field of the weekend, seven bands, with Moonee Valley Brass clear winners and a three-way logjam on 196 behind the placegetters.

Junior & Concert sections

Junior C Grade Brass: Hyde Street Junior Band, 160 points.

Concert grades: Melbourne Symphonic Winds took the A Grade Concert title with 235 points, the equal-highest total of the entire championship. Knox Wind Symphony (221) won the B Grade Concert from Shepparton Brass & Wind (217), Knox Concert Band the C Grade (196), and The Geelong Concert Band, Community Band the D Grade (207). Genazzano FCJ College Symphonic Band won the Junior C Grade Concert (166).
